Who Are We?

Pastors Silas and Nicola Tayebwa are the Founders and joint Executive Directors of King of Kings Ministries International. They are a formidable team whom God has brought together and who He is using powerfully in many areas of Uganda and now around the world.

Silas was born in Nyanja Village deep in South West Uganda. The son of a Christian family he grew in an environment of love and spiritual commitment. He has a deep love for his Ugandan people coupled with a profound understanding of the spiritual dynamics of African life.

Silas was converted in 1995 and soon discovered a passion to share the Gospel with others. He was appointed as Associate Pastor of the Holy Spirit Fire Church in Mbarara in 2002. He carried the responsibilities for the evangelistic and intercessory ministries of that church until his release and commissioning in late 2007..

British born Nicola initially came to Uganda in 1990 for a short term mission trip. She discovered a deep love for the nation and knew that  God had called her to give her life to this country. However it was not until 2002 that the way was opened for her to return to the land. She initially served as an associate pastor of a major church in Kampala. As part of that role, she was appointed as the general manager of a nationwide Christian radio and television ministry.

Silas and Nicola met in Mbarara in 2003 when Silas was asked to escort Nicola around a group of churches to help promote a new radio station in that area.  Married in 2005, Silas and Nicola form a unique team where the complimentary gifts of evangelist/intercessor and teacher/administrator blend to provide a substantial base for their joint ministry.

Silas is a gifted evangelist. He is well known throughout Uganda as a powerful man of God upon whom a rich spiritual anointing rests. His crusades in towns and villages of the south west draw crowds of thousands of people and see many hundreds drawn to Christ. A feature of these crusades is the powerful signs and wonders that regularly occur as Silas prays for the diseased and demonized.

Under the good hand of the Lord, they have seen the sick healed, crippled walk, blind see and deaf hear. There are documented cases of AIDS sufferers being completely healed. There are recorded cases of the dead being raised as he and the intercessory team rebuked the power of death.

Another aspect of Silas ministry is Intercession. As one of the spiritual gatekeepers of the South West of Uganda, Silas and his intercessory team have been responsible for breaking powerful demonic strongholds which, in some cases, have kept whole communities in bondage for hundreds of years. The resulting spiritual break through has seen Churches planted and significant moves of God in regions that were previously resistant to the Gospel.

When God drew Silas and Nicola together in 2004, He brought to Silas side a helpmate with complimentary gifts in teaching and administration. Nicola is a powerful and anointed teacher with a special ministry in the area of inner healing and spiritual deliverance. Her ministry has touched people in North America, the UK , Africa and more recently in Australia. Her teaching seminars for believers are an important part of many of the crusades they conduct together.

Now a wife and mother, Nicola continues to stand beside Silas in his evangelistic ministry securing the home base and organizational foundations essential for the ministry’s advancement.

This powerful team is being used by God to draw many to Christ and see them firmly established in their faith and Christian walk.

Now with a renewed sense of God’s call and a fresh vision, Silas and Nicola have established King of Kings Ministries International.

With the support and encouragement of significant spiritual leaders from Uganda and abroad, Silas and Nicola have launched this new venture with a vision to take the Gospel into challenging and previously difficult to reach areas of East Africa and beyond.

Silas and Nicola have two daughters. Mercy is 16 years of age and Amanya, born in 2006. They are a happy family unit who make their home in Mbarara.
